The tree symbolizes our lives as children eager to share and be close to others. Our first best friends often happened on our first meeting and we seem to always remember the name of our first best friend. Finding friends was easy; we saw, we ran, and we played. Midway on the tree we see a gap and by the age of twelve our friends were chosen based on our habits, our looks, our skills, even on our parents' social and economic status. That first best friend may be outside of our designated play group, but it is my ambition to reconnect the two best friends; or the two trees. To create a place where we all share a common interest - that is to have fun outdoors, together. One day the two friends who have passed one another quietly will play again causing the two trees to reunite and build a beautiful canopy of shade. On the bark of the tree words are carved leaving messages of what was shared between them.
